Still Here

the devil is at the helm

the fools have been fooled

and, false christians are running their mouths about something they never understood

history will repeat

lives, virtues, and progress will suffer

and time will revert to reestablish inequities

our allies have concern

our nation is an embarrassment to the world

and our union is falling apart

But, do not fotget - We are all still here:

the hungry, the non-binary, the colored, the pregnant, the non-hetero, the forgotten, the peaceful, and the believers

Our fight is not over

We can still choose to stand up in small and large moments

in the name of democracy, freedom, peace, and justice

the attainment of these values is a never-ending process

one that requires that none of us lose our light, our hope, our effort

even on the days

when the devil is at the helm
